What Is This New Craze Called Web 2.0

The Internet has seen a lot of changes in the past few years. Some of the changes have been revolutionary, and some have caused a revolt. One of the most prominent and path-breaking changes in the Internet is the Web 2.0.

Web 2.0 has been hailed as the savior of the Internet. It is sometimes termed to be the second phase, or the second coming of the Internet. Web 2.0 mainly consists of user-generated, web based communities. These communities are sometimes hosted by companies. Some of these Web 2.0 aspects can be social networking, blogs and even wikis.

Web 2.0 has some technologies as its base. Most Web 2.0 websites are based on rich Internet applications like Ajax. Websites in Web 2.0 pay more attention to the search engines. Most Web 2.0 websites would have their content crawlable by the Search Engine Crawlers.

Web 2.0 also means super-light websites. That means, these websites have to be content rich and have to do away with anything that would make a website heavy to load. You know where I am getting at - Flash. Web 2.0 has literally sacked tens and thousands of web designers who would create a Flash presentation out of a website. Most Web 2.0 websites have minimalistic graphics, if that, and are made in CSS.

Simply put, Web 2.0 is a taking back of the Internet by individuals. Almost every information on a web 2.0 website is generated by the users. The company only acts as a web-hosting provider, albeit the features provided would be very expensive for a real web hosting provider. Web 2.0 can also be defined as a form of 'many-to-many' publishing over the Internet.

Web 2.0 has been the most advantageous for Internet marketing. Under traditional Internet, any company or individual would have to have their own website to market their product on the Internet.

Web 2.0 has also seen the advent of systematic, simple and hassle free article marketing websites. One of the best advantages of websites inclined towards Web 2.0 is completely searchable content. This enables even a single article on a article marketing website to rank on the Big Three search engines.

Search Engine Optimization is a very important aspect of Web 2.0. due to Search Engine Optimization, Internet marketing has become a reality. Web 2.0 has also created a platform where big and small companies have to come together for their Internet Marketing.

Social networking is another aspect of Web 2.0. Social networking allows individuals to interact and connect with their friends online in a simple manner. These websites also create an chance for people to meet others, depending on various regulations and features of the social networking website. This has given birth to a different type of marketing, known as social marketing.

Social Marketing has some advantages over article or Internet marketing. For example, social marketing connects a definite class and niche of people, whereas article marketing has a reach across a large number of people.
