How to Optimize Your Blog For Search Engines

Improving search engine rankings is important for any blogger who is interested in maintaining a successful blog and increasing the traffic to their blog. However, with different search engines using different algorithms for this purpose, there is no easy solution to optimizing a blog for all the different search engines. These few search engine optimization strategies that can be useful for helping you optimize your blog with most search engines.

The Significance of Keywords

Using relevant keywords in blog posts is one of the simplest and most commonly used techniques for optimizing search engine rankings. However, bloggers disagree on the best methodology for using keywords in order to optimize search engine rankings. Some bloggers believe in creating high keyword densities by using plenty of keywords. However, others argue that relevant placement of the keywords is more important and the best strategy is to use lower density of keywords while paying more attention to the placement of the keywords. Still other bloggers believe that the content of the blog is more important and using keywords naturally in the flow of the blog is a more effective way of being picked out by search engines.

Whichever keyword technique a blogger chooses to utilize the fact remains that all bloggers benefit by researching and using relevant keywords. Merely having a blog that pertains to a niche subject is not enough. It is equally important for bloggers to be aware of the search terms that Internet users typically employ when researching this particular subject. The good news is there are several programs available that help by generating several related keywords that can be incorporated into the blog.

Generating Favorable Back Links

Several search engines rank sites taking into consideration the volume of back links pointing to a website. What's more important, they also consider the quality of the websites that are providing these back links. What this means that websites that are ranked higher are considered more valuable by search engines and websites that receive back links from these high ranking web sites are regarded more favorably as compared to websites that get back links from lower ranking web sites.

Some search engine algorithms also take into consideration whether back links are reciprocated or not. Back links that are not reciprocated are considered more favorably. Back links that are generated from link farms and link exchanges are considered worthless and do nothing to influence search engine rankings.

Using Images to Improve Search Engine Rankings

One of the search engine optimization aspects that are often overlooked by bloggers is placement of pictures on their blogs. This is mainly because bloggers mistakenly believe that search engines do not view pictures. Search engines work by viewing the information that is provided in the image tags. By employing the image tags to provide relevant keywords, bloggers can boost their search engine rankings significantly.

Profitable Article Marketing - Latest 4 Advanced Steps to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

Writing and submitting articles on publishing sites is one of the greatest sales lead generation techniques today. However, there are marketers who fall short in their effort to pull their readers to their website and their connection to the readers instantly end there. You wouldn't want this to happen to your article marketing campaign, would you? That is why you need to supercharge your marketing efforts to make sure that your readers will be converted to clients.

Here are the advanced steps to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Include a "bait" on your resource box. You would like your readers to click the URL on your resource box and you have to make it happen. You can easily do that by including irresistible offer that will excite your readers. Some of the effective baits that you can use are free special reports, free eBooks, vouchers, discounts or even free articles.

2. Establish your credibility and expertise. Briefly tell your readers about your experiences or your achievements so you can prompt them to visit your website and get more information. Make sure that you make your call to action statement strong and impacting, otherwise you will lose a potential client.

3. Do not bore your readers. Make sure that your resource box is no more than 3 sentences. Remember you are not writing another article. Make it brief, concise, enticing, and powerful so your readers will not have reason not to click your website's URL.

4. Maximize your resource box. Most publishing sites allow you to use a maximum of 3 URLs. Take advantage of this and include at least 2 anchor texts using the most relevant keywords to your target niche. By doing so, you make it a bit easier for your readers to get to your website quickly.

Article Marketing - How to Build an Empire Writing Five Articles a Month

Do you offer a truly brilliant product or service? Do you wish you had more leads to sell it to? Do you need to drive more revenue so you have cash on hand to spend on implementing better and better ideas, or to bring on additional staff? If you are answering "yes" to these questions, YOU NEED A MORE EXCEPTIONAL ONLINE PRESENCE THROUGH ARTICLE MARKETING!

With so much business and research being done on the internet these days, you absolutely have to be found there, and found at least a hundred different ways. Anything less and you are missing out on TONS of business that you could be creating! Do you have any idea how much more revenue you could be generating if you took the time to craft a well written article marketing campaign?

I'm telling you it's millions! Let me show you how...

For the purpose of this article, we will already assume that your website does an exceptional job of describing the pain of your customers (what are they looking for?), presenting your credentials (to help the visitor see why you are qualified to solve their problems), and providing the solutions to your customer's everyday problems. We'll assume that it is filled with calls to action (provocative statements intended to poke the visitor into doing something) and opt-in opportunities (ways for you to collect visitor's contact info).

If your website does not yet include all of these elements address these issues first!

If it does, READ ON AND LET'S DISCUSS THE POWER OF ARTICLE MARKETING.

When people have a question, they go to Google, Yahoo or MSN and they type in a list of keywords or keyword phrases. The words they type determine the list that comes up on the search engines and it is there that magic can happen. YOUR WORDS CAN APPEAR! Are they up there now?

TIME OUT: Go to a search engine and type in the keywords someone might use if they were looking for someone to solve the problem that your business solves. Do you come up as the solution? Do you come up in the organic list? Do you come up multiple times?

If not, keep reading!

YOU NEED ARTICLES OUT THERE DOING YOUR WORK FOR YOU!

When someone is looking for a business like yours, does your voice ring out from the heavens, providing guidance, words of wisdom, and words of inspiration? Does Google bring them to your front door and invite them in to look around? Articles are like little sales people, and brilliantly, they are little sales people that you only have to hire one time to work for you FOREVER. Let me say that again, because you probably didn't hear me. Articles work for you FOREVER. F-O-R-E-V-E-R.

The reason I emphasize this is because of the power of article marketing. Every time you put together an article and send it out onto the internet, you are putting in place a sales person that will forever deliver your message. Do that again and again and you are putting out a SALES FORCE -each of which you pay only once!

WRITE ARTICLE, SUBMIT ARTICLE, REPEAT

WRITE ARTICLE, SUBMIT ARTICLE, REPEAT

WRITE ARTICLE, SUBMIT ARTICLE, REPEAT

Like the law of compounding interest with money - repeatedly putting out articles onto the internet will exponentially create value and generate more and more leads for your business. If you can commit to five articles per month, at the end of three months, you'll have FIFTEEN (15) sales people talking your talk and introducing searchers to your message and your SOLUTION to their problem. After six months, you've got thirty (30) of these sales people. At the end of one year, you'll have sixty (60). After two years, you'll have ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY, and...

After three years, YOU'LL HAVE NEARLY 200 SALES PEOPLE delivering different and exceptional messages about your business. And the most wonderful thing, is that they are all little replicas of you. So they are consistent. They deliver different messages, present different solutions, cover different topics, but they all express your unique methodology and the core values and spirit of YOUR business.

If you were to submit five articles per month, and generate $30,000 per month in revenue, after three years, and one hundred and eighty articles you have the potential of driving $360,000 of monthly revenue. Yes, I said MONTHLY revenue. That's more than 4 MILLION in annual revenue. Are you kidding me? So why aren't more people utilizing article marketing? The answer is - they are. But they are writing terrible articles!!!!! And they are killing their businesses, because each article they are sending out is doing BAD business for them, and doing it FOREVER!

SO WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BAD ARTICLE MARKETING AND GOOD ARTICLE MARKETING?

Here are five things your article marketing MUST do! (Are you taking notes?)

1. IT MUST HAVE A CATCHY TITLE OR NO ONE WILL READ IT!

We are a snippet society. We read everything in headlines from newspaper stories, to search headlines, to book titles. Titles grab us or they don't. Make sure that yours is clever, provides the solution to the reader's problem, and utilizes your keywords!

2. YOUR OPENING PARAGRAPH NEEDS TO HIGHLIGHT THE READER'S PAIN.

Look at the first paragraph of this article. Did it draw you in? Did it help you to determine that this article had value? Make the opening emotionally impacting by grabbing the reader's attention and identifying with their PAIN!

3. YOUR ARTICLE MARKETING MUST DELIVER VALUE.

It must offer them a solution to their problem. GIVE AWAY YOUR SECRETS! Don't be afraid to give your reader what they need for FREE. Chances are they are going to recognize that they would rather work with an expert than try to solve this problem on their own. Give someone a fish and they have dinner tonight. Teach them to fish and they can feed themselves forever. But open a grocery store down the street and chances are, they'll buy the fish from you. People only have so much time in their days and if they find a trustworthy source that can make their life easier or their business more profitable, they are going to take you up on it!

4. YOU MUST USE YOUR KEYWORDS WITHIN YOUR TEXT.

The search engines are going to identify each article by the words within it. So you have to be thinking about how people are going to find you. What words are they going to use in their searching? There are so many resources on the net that can help you determine the right keywords. Find one and use it. Then repeat those words throughout your article (just shy of being irritating about overusing them) and you'll find greater success!

5. LASTLY, YOUR ARTICLE MARKETING MUST PROVIDE A CALL TO ACTION.

Lead the reader to do something. Whether it be to download your eBook, call you directly, or click onto your website. Typically, you want to lead them to the next thing they can get for FREE. People like FREE. So lead them to your website, where they can download an eBook that solves this same problem but in more depth, or better yet, offer them a FREE strategy session if they contact you by email. Make it easy for them, like "Hey, I'll even have my assistant set up a time for me to talk to you directly for 20 minutes about ways you can build your business based on these principles. FREE."

Wishing you the best in business and the best in life.

Webmaster-Friendly Google Operators

There are a lot of operators (commands you can enter in the Google search box to return specific results) you can plug into Google in order to find what you want. For webmasters and website owners, however, a few particular operators can be especially useful. Operators can be used to locate potential link partners, evaluate current inbound links, and determine what pages of your website still need to be added to the index. Here are the operators we think you should know:

link:

Simply enter this operator followed by your full url (including http://) with no space. Ex: link:http://www.googleadvisor.org

This operator is one of the most popular and widely used. It simply shows you what (and how many) webpages within the index have a link to your url.

Using this operator, you can also plug in the url of your competitor(s) to see what sites link to them. These websites may be a good place to start in your search for link exchanges (or even one-way links).

site:

This operator will restrict all results to webpages within the domain or website you enter. For example, if you enter site:googleadvisor.org you will find all of the webpages of this site that are listed on Google. This a good operator to use if you want to see just how many webpages of your site Google has indexed, and likewise, how many pages are not listed - the ones you may want to submit, or resubmit, to Google.

allintitle:

Here you enter the operator and some keyword that you are interested in. The results will show you websites and webpages that have that keyword(s) in their title. For example, intitle:google will return all sites that have google in their title, including Google Advisor. This may be used to once again find link partners within your subject area, and to evaluate possible competitors.

Similarly, you can also use intitle: if you want to do a similar search, but open your results to those webpages with the keywords in their content as well . For instance, intitle:google advisor would give you all sites with google in the title and advisor somewhere on the webpage.

info:

This operator is not terribly useful, but its interesting to see what you find. Simply place your url in front of the operator like info:www.googleadvisor.org to get a Google page with your website title and desciption. The page will also contain links to your website's cache, related websites (you can also use the related: operator for this), and more. If your website is new to the index, and you are not appearing for any keywords yet, this is an easy way to find your website and confirm that it is indeed listed. Note: some operators like related: will not work for new websites.

To obtain the full list of operators, visit: http://www.google.com/help/operators.html.

We hope these few operators mentioned above will be of the most use to you as a webmaster or website owner.

Incredible Article Marketing Case Study - Brain Picking Secrets That I Have Learned

Article marketing is one of my favourite methods of traffic generation. The reason for this is that it generates the highest quality lead possible.

I have just noticed that I have written over 580 articles. These have created 58,000 page views, 4510 url clicks to my squeeze page and been published 2,500 times. These are really amazing statistics and I have just gotten going with my article marketing efforts.

In this article I would like to go through the lessons that I have learned from this. When I first started out I was not so sure what to expect from article marketing.

The one most valuable lesson that I have learned from all of this is that it takes time to develop skill. I remember when I started out I really was terrible at writing. As I continually did this I gradually improved. Over time you get better and better. However, when you first start out it will seem like a very big hurdle that you need to climb.

The biggest disappoint about this method of promoting your website is that after 100 articles you may not see that fantastic results yet. However, keep on going the results will be worth it over time. As you continue your results will get better and better. This is a long term strategy and if you are looking for quick results I do not suggest that you attempt this at all because you will totally get frustrated.

Now the most important part of marketing this way is that your leads are a lot more responsive and more likely to buy from you. One of the biggest problems with building a list is actually getting people to buy from you. It is not as easy as what people say. People only buy from other people that they like, know and trust.

Article Marketing - My Insider Secrets To Getting Explosive Traffic From Articles

You do get a lot of traffic initially when your article is posted on directories, but the key to long-term traffic is to use the right keywords in your articles.

The visitor rate per article won't be as hot after a while, but with 500 articles or a few thousand articles, it won't be a big deal because some of your articles will get traffic from the search engines, and also from the search bar in the article directory itself, if you've done some good keyword optimization in your title, article keywords, description and actual article content.

You do want to get out as many articles as you initially, then once your traffic has become stable, add in articles occasionally.

You can also submit your articles to other article directories. If you haven't used article submission services before, you can add that to the mix. That's one more way of leveraging your articles.

You can also use your articles as press releases, and even for classified ads. I haven't seen many people post articles on classified ads. Your article will stand out as a powerful advertorial amongst the sea of hard-selling ads.

Personally I prefer writing the articles myself, it can be hard to find a writer whose writing style matches the brand of your business. You can, however, find some good writers on sites like Elance and Get A Freelancer. Simply hire a good one to do your projects for the long-term if you are not interested in writing them.

Those are just some tips for getting leads and sales from articles. Do keep them in your mind as you go about your daily marketing activities. Quantity and quality equals power. There is no black or white.

Article Marketing Trumps Potential Online Traffic Generation

Article marketing reaps progressive rewards for small independent businesses online. Along with other opportunities, Article Marketing gets your company name out there, brands your market successful and increases traffic to your website.

Whats the key?

Purpose and Motivation: Innovative purpose generated motivated team players marketing your business with valuable content over the internet. Article marketing changes the business dynamic, bringing success to the forefront with relevant content that draws the readers back to your business.

Aspirations and Achievement: Create a paradigm promoting your business with high-impact content ending with a call to action that brings continual success to your business. Once you create the dynamic that allows your business to focus on a niche, your article marketing can blindly generate targeted traffic with sufficient brand application to get your business noticed.

Fatal Attraction Margins: Greed and insecurity are your biggest enemies on the Article Marketing drive to success. Youre better off to provide well for a narrow niche than to broaden your range and reach no-one. Know your consumer and recognize the niche youve built, allowing that niche to fulfill your needs.

Generate Cash Flow: As a business owner, you not only have a reason to generate cash flow, but a responsibility. Without cash flow and profit your business cannot succeed. Give yourself the freedom to gain ground with financial rewards while acknowledging the value of helping others.

Market your business through article marketing that provides relevant content and a specific call to action bringing your readers back to your business site. Promote your business and give your customers what they want.

Paid Links Are Out, Article Marketing Is In

How will you promote your website in 2008? Will you be buying links in 2008? Are you aware of the benefits of article marketing? As the title of this article suggests, writing articles as a way of promoting a website is suddenly back in fashion.

As recently as the beginning of last year, webmasters were able to basically buy their way to the top of the search engine rankings but Google have now put a stop to this via their war on paid links campaign. People are now running scared of even exchanging web links and so article marketing yet again has come back into the limelight. This is one form of web promotion that not only works but is here to say.

If you would like to see your website obtain higher rankings for its keywords and ultimately gain more traffic, then I would seriously advise you to commence writing articles.

You can write about any subject however content that is related to your website would be preferable. The article should be at least two hundred and fifty words in length, in truth the majority of article directories would rather them have between four and five hundred words. The article needs to be your own work; unique and fresh content is very much sought after at the moment.

You can then submit the article to one or more of the main article directories/websites. My favourite is EzineArticles, others include goarticles, searchwarp, articledashboard and ideamarketers.

Submitting two or three articles will not have too much impact however submitting three hundred will.

I wish you all the best with your web promotion in 2008, happy writing.

Article Marketing - Your Headline Do's And Don'ts

Article marketing is a very powerful way of generating traffic and reputation for your affiliate marketing business. But you must work at it and do it right to get the great short and long term results that you hope for.

In this article, we will discuss crucial tips for writing your headline that will help increase your readership.

Whether you are writing articles for your affiliate marketing website, blog or to submit to other sites, your article will only attract attention if your headline is worded properly. The first thing that your potential readers and hopefully customers will see is your headline.

Write a great headline and they are hooked, write a dud headline and no-one will read your well thought out, informative copy.

Headline Do's

  • Targeting: Your headline must reflect what your article is about. Imagine coming across a great headline, you click on the article and find it is totally off topic. You would be really disappointed. Also the next time you come across an article by the same author, the trust is no longer there and you would probably pass. Make sure that your headline is related to the content of your article.

  • Teaser: Structure your headline in a way that tells the reader what they are about to read without giving too much away. Try to arouse their curiosity on the topic, make them want to click on your article to read more. A headline ' SEO can dramatically improve your website's traffic' will not have the same pull as 'Discover 3 crucial SEO changes you can make to increase traffic to your website today' Same meaning, different delivery

  • Tone: Hype is a rampant disease on the internet. As with most infective diseases, over-exposure has led to the development of immunity or resistance in the population. So many headlines are so over hyped that they tend to ensure your article will not be read. How often do you take time to read the article with a headline like this? 'How to make $50000 while you sleep, in just 2 weeks'. You want your article's headline to generate excitement but be credible. That way you present yourself as a credible business.

  • Keywords: Try to include your keywords in your headline. Don't overdo it. Including your keyword is good for SEO, and tells your reader what your article is about
Headline Don'ts

  • Tricks: Tricks will just irritate your readers and may offend them. It may come across as you insulting their intelligence. Your business should be presented as a serious business and resorting to trick to get readers will erode your reputation. There are all sorts of tricks eg keyword stuffing that may work in the short term, but in the long term will seriously hurt your business

In a future article, we will discuss tips on writing the body of your article to increase your click through rate.

Review of Tim Gorman's The Power of Article Marketing from The System Seminar 2007

The first part of Tim's presentation was an introduction to his background. Most impressively, he works full time for the military from 6:30 am to 8:30 PM. This leaves him only the evening hours to focus on his 4-5 figure business. So Tim explains to us that if he can do this after working a full day and coming home at night tired, then we can certainly do it too. Tim has about 100 websites out there so far. He did have more, but a bunch were wiped out when his domain name registrar went under.

Tim starts the meat of his presentation quickly. He tells us that with the power of article marketing, we can:
1) Compete in highly niche topics
2) Receive traffic within 24-48 hours after the first article submission
3) Almost immediately start earning money
4) Create a daily income of $5 to $15 for each website
5) Identify the hot niche topics to further monetize

Tim's secret weapon is ezinearticles.com. If you are familiar with the 80/20 rule, you should be focusing most of your attention on ezinearticles.com. Learn that site well and you'll most likely get the best results from it.

Captain Gorman shares some monetization strategies with us including:
1) Putting adsense on our sites
2) Selling affiliate products
3) Selling ebooks (through private label rights, or our own ebooks)
4) Selling ClickBank.com products
5) Building a mailing list

Tim then shared with us the parts of a great article:
1) An effective title
2) An effective article summary
3) A good quality article (the body)
4) A great resource box with a call to action

He gives us some tips on the title, including making it shocking, keyword rich, or both. He gives some great (and humorous) examples of effective titles.

Next Tim gives us some advice for the body of the article. He tells us we need quality content, short paragraphs, numbers or bullets, subheadings, and keywords in the articles. He shares that keyword density is not super important in his experience.

The resource box is an extremely important part of article marketing. You can put a link in your resource box to send readers directly to your site and also for the linking benefits. Tim also mentions the concept of deep linking (linking to a page within your site, not just the home page).

Things got fun after that...

Tim shared exactly what he does in his 6 step approach:
1) Choose 3 Niche Topics
2) Build a Small 5 Page Site for Each Topic
3) Use articles to determine which of the three he should focus on
4) Perform his "Article Blitz" on that website
5) Start getting high pr one way links
6) Repeat steps 1-5

He went on to tell us exactly what he does and how he does it. This is part one of a three part article.

The Article Marketing Internet Cash Machine Plan!

Do you want to earn money on demand writing simple articles that sells? If yes, let's have a look at the whole marketing process behind this. You are going to discover why only a handful of savvy marketers earn a full time income writing articles.

It's a long process, but when you master each step, you are on the direct road to Internet success.

Savvy writers know that you need to use leverage to succeed. What does it mean? Please pay attention to the following sentence because this is the difference between a thousands of dollars in profits per month and failure.

Revealed: The biggest article marketing secret.

An article is not really an article.

An article is an agent working for you twenty four hours a day on complete autopilot because it will multiply.

From one article, you should be able to make a full product line in your niche market.

Here is how it works:

1. You write a single article, but with a different mindset. The goal of this single article is to create an outline for a more complex project.

Be sure to get every single aspect of the niche in the article. What these people want, what are their dreams and aspirations, what are their biggest frustrations.

Where do they meet and where they are going to solve their problems, etc...

When you gathered all the information you need, write this article. You are not going to write an essay here, but an outline with bullet points.

For now, do not add anything under each bullet. Just a sentence.

2. When the article is finished.

Take your first paragraphs and write about everything you think about (A brain dump).

Do the same thing for each paragraph and each bullet point. Repeat this process over and over. From one article, you should be able to get dozens of other related articles.

After a while, you will have articles on every single aspect of your niche market.

What's next?

It's time to add all these articles together and publish an short "loss leader" ebook to get customers into your marketing funnel.

What's next?

Take the same book, add more content and sell it on Amazon.com

This is only the beginning of the Internet cash machine money plan.

Article Marketing For Money

Article marketing is considered a traffic generation technique, and yet I still think that its primary purpose should be to make you money, not to generate traffic. You see, generating traffic is simply one of the vehicles by which article marketing makes you money.

So how does article marketing specifically make you money?

There are several ways that article marketing can make you money.

There are two specific ways that I think article marketing should be used to make you money online.

1) Article marketing to list build. I think article marketing is one of the best ways to generate quality traffic for your list building campaign. I believe that articles create some of the very highest levels of qualification, and that is what you need for your list campaign.

2) Article marketing to drive traffic to your ppc pages. I think that article marketing is a great tool for driving traffic to your ppc pages because the traffic is highly qualified and wants to learn more now. This is extremely important. They are hungry when they get there, and when the only way to really satisfy that hunger is to click a ppc ad, they often will.

I think that anytime you need highly targeted and qualified traffic is a great excuse to use article marketing. Sure, it is hard work. You have to write the articles, then you have to submit the articles. But the bottom line is that it works. It works for me, it works for about 100 other people in the world (my private estimate), and it will work for you. The only question are you willing to write for 2 hours per day?

SEO Copywriting Finding A Happy Balance

Perhaps the hardest type of copy to write is SEO copy. SEO is an acronym for search engine optimized content. This simply means that your article has been decorated with keywords that the search engines will include in their algorithms as they index your page.

Sadly a lot of SEO copywriting is not very charming for humans to read. That is because most people think that the key word has to be repeated again and again in order for the page to rise to the top of the search engines. In fact this SEO technique is called keyword stuffing and many search engines will now penalize you for it. Unfriendly garbled copy that is ridden with too many of the same words can make visitors to your site think you are illiterate as copy with too much SEO looks like a moron wrote it.

Remember that the goal of effective SEO writing is to not only to improve your searchability and search engine rankings but also to lure customers to your site. The last thing you want your carefully written SEO coy to do is turn your visitor off your web page because they are grossed out by your blatant attempts at marketing. However this is precisely what happens when people click on a site that is filled badly written SEO articles that are strewn the keywords. Even worse, this type of a hard sell is because it makes you look greedy and desperate for business.

The key is to find a happy balance between copywriting for people and copywriting for the search engines while creating your website content. This is a talent that not too many people have in which case you might have to hire a professional SEO writer to ease your path for you when it comes to content.

Affiliate Marketing Article - 5 Crucial Tips For A Winning Campaign

Common questions

One of the most common questions asked by those who are new to Internet marketing is: how do I get traffic to my site? This is an important question, because without traffic, your website is like a department store out in the middle of the Gobi desert. No one will find it, and you won't make any money. One of the best ways to get traffic to your site is to write articles. The reason I say this is because writing articles is both free and highly effective. You also make yourself out to be an expert on the topic you're writing on.

Tip #1- Write and Submit

For example, if you sign up to an affiliate program that promotes a natural supplement product, you can then write an article about how eating natural food can improve our health. You can explain how eating certain foods can dramatically enhance your health. Near the end of the article, you add a small bio about yourself with a link to your website. You will naturally want to link to the website where you're selling the product. Once you do this, you submit the article to all the best article directories on the Internet.

Tip #2-Track the articles

After you begin submitting your sites to link directories, you will need to track how many links you have. The links are critical, because they allow your websites to rank better with the search engines. The better your site ranks with the search engines, the more traffic and readers you will receive. Having more targeted traffic means more sales.

Tip #3-Can you dominate?

However, what if you want to promote in a field in which you don't dominate? If you don't dominate the topic how can you promote it? Not a problem if you have a valuable resource to help you. Then you just need some inspiration.

Tip #4-The resource

You may be surprised to learn that many successful marketers make money in areas they're not even that familiar with. You can do this by simply researching topics on Wikipedia to learn more about them, and then they write articles based on what they've learned.

You have to write a keyword in the search box, for instance: "brides". Then on the bride's page you just read the article some times, taking notes of the main keywords. Next step is using these notes to write an original article.

Tip #5-Powerful title and bio box

It is also important to always write a powerful title for your articles. This will get the attention of readers who come across the article. Having a good bio box is also crucial for you getting your reader's click and get him to your website

Your Web Writing Business - Get Started Article Marketing Today

If you can write well enough to write an email message you can make money writing for the Web with article marketing.

How much money?

That's up to you. There are hundreds of thousands of products you can sell with article marketing. It's possible to make much more than you make with your day job (even a highly paid one). It all depends on how how keen you are; basically on how much you write.

Get started making money: find something to sell

Your first step in article marketing is to find something to sell. Perhaps you're already an affiliate for a product or service.

(An "affiliate" is someone who promotes a product or service in order to get a commission on a sale.)

If you're not yet an affiliate, visit some of the popular affiliate networks, and sign up. Choose a product to sell, and you're good to go.

Here's a tip: promote products or services which you've used, and which you like. It's much easier to promote something when you have personal experience with it.

Write a couple of articles and post them online

As an article marketer, you promote your products by writing articles, and your primary tool is the "resource" or "bio box" at the end of the article.

So write a couple of articles to promote your affiliate product. The reason for writing a couple at one session is that once you're warmed up, it's as easy to write two articles as it is to write one - the second article will take you much less time than the first.

Now spend some time crafting a good resource box. This is your chance to be paid for your writing, so make your resource box effective. Ask yourself WHY someone would want to buy the product you're promoting, and emphasize that in your resource box.

You can post your articles to an article directory online, or you can set up a Web page at Squidoo, and post your articles there.

Article marketing is very easy, and it's profitable too. It's the ideal way to start your Web writing business.

The Top Ten SEO Techniques and Page Design Elements That Will Get You Blacklisted From Google

The biggest search engine of them all is without a doubt Google. What they say goes, and most website owners just have to put up with it. It is always good to know what SEO techniques that Google will allow, but most of all, what they will not allow. They can blacklist your site for as long as they want, and you will never be able to get a high ranking again if you cross them once.

Knowing how important a great ranking is for your web site or blog site, here is a list of six SEO techniques you SHOULD NOT do for any reason:

1. YOUR WEB PAGE TEXT IS IN GRAPHICS FORM ONLY
Google considers "burying" text in your HTML code hides the text from their spiders that are trying to detect all of your relevant content. They feel this is manipulating their search engines and they don't like that one bit.

2. YOUR SITE HAS A BLACKLISTED WEB PAGE LINKED TO IT
A good rule of thumb regarding this issue is never to link to a "link farm" or a "Free for ALL" link page. These websites deal in every under-handed cheap trick they can find to bypass Google's strict submission rules, thereby bringing every other website linked to them down in the gutter. Make sure that all of your links lead Google and your site visitors to reputable pages at all times.

3. BAD LANGUAGE ON YOUR MAIN PAGES
This also includes using ethnic slurs of all types, as Google really looks down on racist sites that result in hate crimes or other controversial events.

4. LINK BUYING
Google really hates when you have to pay another site just to link with yours. If your site is worthy of being included in Google's main pages, why on earth would you have to buy a link? It does not make much sense from a business standpoint either, because you should put your promotion budget somewhere else entirely.

5. CLOAKING
When you present one web page to your readers and another page just for the spiders from Google to search for relevant keywords, this is known as "cloaking". If an SEO specialist says it's OK to do it his way, tell him firmly "No way!" and go with another SEO company that is more reputable.

6. YOUR SERVER IS DOWN DURING A GOOGLE SEARCH
You say that this is not your fault, but in a way it is. You cannot afford any down time as far as your main web pages are concerned, because that eats into your profits on a weekly basis if it happens too much. So always find the best server possible for your site, no matter the cost. And when Google sends out their spiders to your main pages for ranking purposes it is a HUGE error if your server is down and Google comes back with an error message. Big problem time!

7. ZERO LINKS
Your website must have a least one back link coming in from a reputable website for Google to recognize you as worth their time. So before you submit your web pages, make sure you link to somebody first.

8. KEYWORD STUFFING
I went over this is another recent article, but it is a very important technique to remember to avoid. If Google thinks your pages are filled with certain keywords that you have included over 10% in the content's overall body, you will be heavily penalized by Google for keyword stuffing that will be hard for your site to recover from.

9. COPYRIGHT VIOLATION
If somebody has reported your site as having stolen their exact wording on content pages, or have accused your website of stealing images and graphics from their own pages, Google will come after you and make sure that you eliminate the text and images from your site immediately. But just to make sure that Google never has to do this, ALWAYS refrain from plagiarizing anybody else's website for any reason whatsoever.

10. USAGE OF FLASH PAGE AS MAIN PAGE
If you really want to make your visitors pay attention to your main page, just get creative with an animated logo or put some very nice HTML coding on your front page for some really nice graphics. In other words, use every other "flashy" technique to get a web surfers attention except for using a flash page. Google's spiders cannot read the text in a flash page, so Google thinks that you are manipulating that page for their search engine rankings.

Stay away from all of these SEO techniques and page re-designs and you should be OK in climbing up the much-coveted rankings of Google's main category web page.

Selling Articles For Profit - How To Sell Articles On Ebay

Not surprisingly, there are authors that attempt to sell custom articles on Ebay. In many cases, they do garner some success. That said, with a little bit of refinement, you can target your article selling to focused audiences.

Among other things, many new business owners will scour Ebay listings looking for ideas about how to market their products. As an example, if someone wants to sell jewelry online, they will review all kinds of Ebay guides, as well as listings from other vendors. Therefore, if you offer custom design articles under the jewelry keyword, you may just catch that person's eye. If you post your services using the featured option, this will also make it much easier for your prospective customer to find you.

Unfortunately, most article sellers make their Ebay listings vague, in the hopes of reaching larger numbers of people. As a result, most potential customers do not even know to look for content writers on Ebay. Not only will they never find your listing, you will wind up wasting money on insertion fees. On the other hand, creating more listings with specific topics can easily boost your sales.

Even though Ebay is traditionally geared towards the sale of physical merchandise, they do have the resources to help you sell digital media. Not only can this help with delivery of custom content, you will be able to ask the customer to pay you before you actually release the item for download. Considering the high rate of article theft, Ebay is one of the few places where the writer has an advantage.
