Boost Your Online Sales With Long Tail Marketing

Years ago, when I first heard the phrase 'Long Tail Marketing' I did a double take and wondered what the heck the phrase was referring to? Little did I know then how important a factor it would play in the overall success of my online websites.

I first heard of Long Tail Marketing from Chris Knight who runs Ezinearticles.com, an online article site which is ranked around the Top 500 sites on the Internet. Ezinearticles had also sent over 50 thousand unique visitors to my main website so I knew any marketing information coming from Chris was the real deal.

Unfortunately, when you run several sites on Internet marketing you are constantly bombarded with online marketing products, techniques and the latest marketing fads... you become very cynical of the latest trends. I only half-heartily started testing Long Tail marketing -- huge mistake -- for I immediately started seeing results with my online sales. Just wish I had paid more attention to Chris's advice on Long Tail marketing and implemented it sooner in my overall marketing strategy.

It has made all the difference in the profitability of my websites. The reasons why are explained below, as well as a detailed description of Long Tail Marketing and how you can use it to boost or increase your online sales.

Don't make my initial mistake, discover everything you can about Long Tail Marketing and start using it in your own marketing.

What is Long Tail Marketing?

Long Tail Marketing refers to the technique or method of using a long string of keywords when targeting prospective buyers. Instead of using/targeting one or two single keywords in your online marketing - you use a longer keyword phrase or a whole group of related keywords; thus the name, a long tail or string of keywords.

Perhaps, the best way to explain Long Tail Marketing is to use a simple example. Lets say you have a travel business and you have an online site associated with your business. Instead of targeting the keyword 'vacations' which will be very competitive and very hard to place on the first page SERPs in the major search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo... now with Long Tail Marketing, instead of targeting the broader competitive keyword 'vacations', you target a longer, more precise phrase: 'honeymoon vacation packages to Niagara Falls'.

Keep in mind that keywords are the exact words surfers type into search engines to find what they're looking for on the web. You can plainly see that the second keyword phrase is more targeted than the general keyword 'vacations'.

Why Is Long Tail Marketing So Effective?

There are several reasons why Long Tail Marketing is so effective. It has narrowed down and targeted exactly what the prospective buyer is searching for. It is precisely the product or service that they intend to buy. It's only a matter of you selling it to them.

But more importantly, by using Long Tail Marketing, you have found the prospective buyer at the exact time or stage when they are ready to buy. You have found them at the right moment in their buying process -- they have made up their minds to exactly what they want and are just looking for a quality product or service to meet their needs. You satisfy their needs with a quality product or service.

Lets look at an example from my own marketing, I run a simple online laptop guide within one of my sites. Instead of targeting the very competitive and unreachable general keyword 'laptops', I go for a longer keyword phrase such as 'best gaming laptops'. And the even more targeted 'Alienware Aurora m7700' -- someone searching for the last keyword phrase more than likely has already decided on what type of gaming laptop they want to buy. This last keyword phrase is much more likely to convert into a sale.

How Do I Use Long Tail Marketing With My Site?

Remember back to when you last bought something online, what keywords did you use to find it? If you have an online business, you must target the keyword phrases your customers would use to find your product or service. You have to find these keyword phrases and use them in your marketing.

Most professional marketers use some type of keyword software to research their keywords and keyword phrases. I use the very powerful Keyword Elite by Brad Callen and it quickly gives me all the keyword information I need to put my Long Tail Marketing into place.

But this software is expensive, so another alternative would be to use such sites as Wordtracker or the one I like www.nichebot.com, it will tell you how many searches are made each month for your chosen keyword phrase and give you some indication of your competition.

The real beauty of using Long Tail keywords -- there is little or no competition for your keywords. You will find it easier to place on the first page of the different search engine for your targeted phrase. If you do Pay-Per-Click advertising, you will save on costs by using Long Tail keywords. Plus, both your conversion rate and ROI will be higher.

Marketing Tip: Always create a page on your site for each Long Tail keyword phrase you target, place it in the title and the url. Plus, if you write articles, place your keyword phrase in the title of your article and syndicate your articles around the web using sites like Ezinearticles.com mentioned above.

Of course, all income results from Long Tail Marketing or any marketing method will depend on your own effects and marketing abilities. No one can guarantee sales but I hope you will give Long Tail Marketing a go. It is simple, direct and effective.

Long Tail Marketing has made all the difference in how profitable my sites have become. It is the one marketing method I use daily and plan to use for years to come. In fact, Long Tail Marketing has become the backbone of my whole online business. Go figure!

What I Learned From Interviewing Lance Winslow - Author Of 10,000 Online Articles

Recently I became aware that one particular author on one of the leading article directories has published more than 10,000 articles, in well under two years! He is by far the most prolific author in this directory, and he has written them all himself!

This gentleman's name is Lance Winslow, and when you start to get an idea of all the things he does, and has done, you realize that he must be close to a genius! Either way, he certainly knows a thing or two about article marketing! So my colleague Peter Cutforth contacted him and asked him if he would be willing to be interviewed. He declined, but offered to answer any questions by email, so he managed to secure an "e-interview" !

Now, this guy is an entrepreneur to entrepreneurs! He is a global leader, and philosopher, and clearly has a huge intellectual capacity as well as highly honed marketing skills.

Here is one of the questions Peter asked Lance:

Peter: With 10,000 articles on one of the leading article directories you hold the position of number 1 most prolific author by many thousands of articles, yet you've only been a Platinum member since end March 2005. Can you tell us what is your approach, what is your 'secret', if you like, to cranking out so many articles? It seems like you write them all yourself, but do you get some outsourced, and if so, what is your approach to this?

Lance: I am having the Guinness Book of World Records verify that I am the all time world record holder for the most articles written on the Internet. Every article is written by me. The secret I suppose is to become a Renaissance Man so to speak and be well-versed in many subjects so that you can write that many articles. I would recommend that anyone wishing to achieve high-quantity in article writing to become an avid reader in at least 20 different industries, all aspects of the human endeavor and maintain a thirst for knowledge. The hardest thing I have found in writing articles is coming up with things to write about and coming up with titles to write on. Most of my articles are literally right off the top of my head now with little or no research, because the information is already up there from all the reading and soaking up information.

Peter asked Lance a question about achieving "critical mass" with article marketing, and his answer should not be missed by any internet marketer! See how to read it for free below:

The Undeniable Significance of Keyword Research in SEO

Alright, so you have heard about how important keywords are in SEO. But why is it so important, you might ask. The answer is pretty simple really.

Because, unless you sell to your target audience, chances are that your webpage is lost in the millions of pages out there.

This is one of the reasons why most companies spend considerable time in keyword research before going online. If you are a company who is about to go online in some time, then you can follow these steps to maximize the effectiveness of your SEO program.

What are people searching for?

That's exactly what you need to find.

  • While it is normal that you have at least 1 to 3 keywords on your main page, the focus should be on the most crucial keyword.

  • Get a piece of paper and jot down a list of the most used and most searched terms.

  • Look at it as if you are a customer searching for something and write down the very terms that you would use.

  • This will very easily give you a few words to start with and then you can list down the ones that are closest to these keywords.

  • There are several tools like overture and word tracker that can help you with the most used keywords in the last few weeks.

Competition

Just pick up any term that is relevant to your product from the list and conduct a search on google for the term. The number of web pages that come up in the result pages will help you determine the competition for that particular term.

And the last part is how you apply the keywords to your content. This is a section called as on page SEO techniques which tells you how you have to use the keywords on your webpage.

Keyword Density And Authors - Some Light Remarks on Density

I should have seen it coming. I had asked for feedback on an ebook I had written on Article Marketing. The feedback came with some weak praise together with a remark that I had neglected Keyword Density. I thanked my reviewer and refrained from pointing out that Keyword density had exactly the amount of attention that it deserved - none. I thought no more of it until I got an email from Chris Knight of ezinearticles complaining that many authors were writing articles with an inflated Keyword density.

There's no avoiding it, so here goes.

A keyword is a word or phrase used by people searching for information online with the aid of a search engine. If the keyword phrase is "golf shoes" the search engine scans its database for articles on "golf shoes" then it sorts the articles into an order depending on how relevant they are and then presents them for viewing. So far, so good. The nub of the issue is how the search engine knows what is best.

In the early days it was easy for the search engine to find out what a webpage was about. All it had to do was look at the title and meta description tags on the webpage and then compute the keyword density. Keyword density is just the number of keywords on the page per hundred words. If our shopper found an article on golf shoes 300 words long and the phrase "golf shoes was found 6 times then (6 / 300) x 100 = 2%.

What this gives us is a simple way of working out how important a page is. A webpage that mentions "golf shoes" 10 times is probably going to be more useful to our shopper that a page that mentions "golf shoes" once per 100 words.

I guess it had to happen. Webmasters started "stuffing" keywords into articles with the enthusiasm of a Chef stuffing a turkey. The Keyword density on webpages began to soar and the folk running the search engines were unable to tell which article was best for their users. It was clear that keyword density was less important to the search and it began to be discounted by the search engines.

Google was probably the first to respond to the spamming of the web by what came to be called "keyword stuffing". Predictably some webmasters thought they could outwit Google and started to repeat their keywords dozens of times on the page with, for example, a white typeface on a white background.

While the Quality department at Google were deleting keyword stuffed webpages from their index their colleagues had developed a revolutionary form of advertising called Adsense. A webpage with Adsense on it will display advertisements on it that match the content of the page. So a page with an article about the best shoes to wear while playing golf will show Adsense advertisements on golf shoes.

The implications of this are that Google can judge for itself what the page is about. It does not need to read the meta tags and does not need to work out the keyword density.

Consequently Google started to discount meta tags and keyword density.

Many webmasters persisted with their folly in spite of explanations from Search Engine experts such as Aaron Wall, Jill Whalen and Colin McDougall.

Instead of counting keywords Google is looking at the relationships between the words. There is a natural structure in language and a well constructed and informative article would be expected to have a variety of words relevant to a topic as well as a smattering of technical terms and slang.

Writing in a natural way is the only way to get the word relationships Google is looking for in its quest for high quality and writing to target a particular keyword density is an effective way to tell Google that the article concerned is of little value.

The search engines have been telling us for years to write for our visitors and not for the search engines. For years we have been ignoring this advice but the search technology now in place is so good that deliberately trying to rank in the search results by artificial means is self defeating.

And that is why my book did not feature keyword density!

Article Marketing - How To Write Conclusions And Resource Boxes That Pull In Clicks Like Crazy

Here's your chance to discover how to write hypnotizing conclusions and resource boxes for your articles that increase your clickthrough rates through the roof. In this article, we are going to look at these two important components of an Internet article and how to fully utilize them for maximum effectiveness.

Your conclusion can be comprised of one of two things: a summary of your article, or some additional insight that will end your article with a bang, so to speak. Your summary can simply be just a few sentences stating the important points of your main copy and what the reader should do next. Always provide a call-to-action at the end of your article by telling him to take action on the points you have discussed or by clicking through to your website to find out more. You should always get your reader to take action on the techniques discussed in your article. Otherwise the article is no good for anyone.

For your resource box, you want to do the same thing - get your readers to take action. Usually, this means clicking through to your website. You won't get many clickthroughs simply giving them a link to click on at the end of the article. You must get your readers to act by writing a compelling call-to-action.

For example, in the golf niche, I might write:

"Discover How A Golfing Newbie Embarrassed Experienced Pros In The Space Of A Year Using These Covert Golf Techniques!" Click Here To Receive Your Free Report In Your Email Inbox

You must write something out of the ordinary to get the interest and attention of your readers. However, don't lie about stuff. Keep it honest yet interesting and many people will click through to your link to see your offer.

How Do Search Engines Work - Web Crawlers

There are basically two types of search engines. The first is by robots called crawlers or spiders.

Search Engines use spiders to index websites. When you submit your website pages to a search engine by completing their required submission page, the search engine spider will index your entire site. A spider is an automated program that is run by the search engine system. Spider visits a web site, read the content on the actual site, the site's Meta tags and also follow the links that the site connects. The spider then returns all that information back to a central depository, where the data is indexed. It will visit each link you have on your website and index those sites as well. Some spiders will only index a certain number of pages on your site, so dont create a site with 500 pages!

The spider will periodically return to the sites to check for any information that has changed. The frequency with which this happens is determined by the moderators of the search engine.

A spider is almost like a book where it contains the table of contents, the actual content and the links and references for all the websites it finds during its search, and it may index up to a million pages a day.

Example: Excite, Lycos, AltaVista and Google.

When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is actually searching through the index which it has created and not actually searching the Web. Different search engines produce different rankings because not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices.

One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing or spamdexing. Then the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original page

10 Steps To Top 10 Rankings In Google

Most webmasters go totally "gaga" for top 10 rankings in Google. And for good reason, Google is the most dominant search engine on the net and will deliver the largest amount of traffic.

Even those webmasters who are fortunate enough to get No. 1 rankings for their keywords in all the three major search engines will tell you Google is the one that will deliver the majority of their traffic. Hands down.

More importantly, those same webmasters will also inform you, getting top 10 rankings in Google often means your site will prove profitable. Mainly because obtaining targeted traffic is usually your first obstacle in creating a viable online business. In other words, if you get top ten listings in Google for good searchable keywords, it is almost impossible not to earn money.

How To Proceed?

First, you must know the rudimentary basics of how keywords work. Keywords and keyword phrases are the exact words someone types into a search engine to find what they're looking for online. If you have a site on "dog training" then your goal is to get a top 10 ranking for the keywords "dog training".

Now if no one searches for "dog training" it would be a useless keyword, you would get no traffic no matter how perfectly your site is optimized for that keyword.

How Do You Know If A Keyword Is Good?

To find out, you have to do some keyword research on your particular keywords. Many professional online marketers use keyword research software like Brad Callen's Keyword Elite. However, you can also use the keyword suggestion tools supplied by Google Adwords or Overture. Try here:

http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/

Now if you check "dog training", you will find it receives around 4,469 searches each day. That's a lot of traffic but you must realize that it may be too good, or rather too competitive for your purposes, especially if have a new site.

Biggest Mistake When Choosing Keywords

The most common mistake most novice webmasters make is targeting keywords which are too competitive. You simply will not be able to compete or place for extremely competitive keywords. Well established sites and businesses with very deep pockets have the resources to completely dominate those keywords.

While it is not entirely futile nor a waste of time to concentrate your efforts on highly competitive keywords, you will have better success if you target low to medium competitive keywords such as "dog obedience training" with 285 searches per day.

Long Tail Keyword Marketing

Besides online marketers have discovered that longer keyword phrases are usually the most lucrative. These phrases deliver traffic which is better targeted and more likely to convert into a sale. "Dog hunting training" which gets around 100 searches a day will be more targeted than the general term "dog training" and if you have a site devoted to training hunting dogs then this keyword phrase may convert better for you.

Always keep this "Long Tail" keyword strategy in the back of your mind as you implement the following steps to achieve your own Top 10 Rankings in Google.

1. Make A Master Keyword List

Your first step is to make a master list of the keywords you wish to target. Obviously these should be closely related to the theme of your site. As you can see from the example above, it is best to choose low to medium competitive keywords. Check the keyword competition by seeing how many sites are listed in Google for that keyword. Webmasters also check the Google PageRank of the sites that hold the top 10 positions. If all those sites are PR6 and above it may be hard to get ranked high for your keywords.

2. Choose Related Keywords

Once you have your master list of keywords, find long tail related keywords to target. Again, check out the competition and daily searches made for each chosen keyword.

3. Use Quality Content For Your Keywords

Creating quality content should always be your main goal. Write for actual visitors who will see and read your content. First and foremost you must have good useful content that your visitors will use themselves and recommend to their friends or colleagues. Tie this quality content in with your chosen keywords. Use one keyword phrase per page.

4. Use Keyword In Domain Name, Title and URLs

Having your keyword in your domain name will score big points from search engines. Plus, each page of content should contain your keywords in the title & meta tags for that page. Most experts also suggest you have your keyword in the URL and use hyphens to separate your keywords. Although the author has gotten good results by using an underscore and htm in URLs. Example: www.yoursite.com/your_keyword.htm

5. Do On Page Optimization

Keyword ratio is a much discussed topic by SEO experts and many suggest you should have your keyword in the H1 or headline title of your page. Sprinkle your keyword and variations of it throughout your page. Don't over do it but make sure the robot/spiders will clearly discover what your page is about. Many webmasters make sure they include their main keyword in the first and last 25 words on their pages.

6. Use Traffic Modules

One technique that works extremely well in Google is clustering a closely related topic or subject into a distinct separate section on your site. For example, if you have a marketing site, you could create a whole section on article marketing where you would have 50 to 100 keyworded pages all relating to your subject. Writing articles, formatting articles, submitting articles, article software... place a keyword linked menu on each page to connect all your pages together.

Keep in mind, your main objective is to supply quality information to your visitors. One reason Google may favor this type of structure is because they want quality content returned in their SERPs.

7. Try Article Marketing

Article marketing is writing short informative articles on keyword topics related to your sites. You then submit these helpful keyworded articles to ezine directories on the web, when your articles are picked up by related sites you receive quality One-Way links. The higher the quality of your article, the more links you will receive.

Another ranking tactic to use, if you're just starting out your site will probably have a low PR rank and you will find it hard to rank for even modest keywords. That's why it's useful to take advantage of the higher PageRank of the major ezine directories. Your keyworded articles on these high PR sites will get picked up by Google and displayed in the top 10 rankings. Now the displayed URL will be the article directory site but the links in the resource box will be pointing back to your site. Over time this article marketing technique will raise your own site's rankings for those keywords. Simple but effective.

8. Anchor Text And One Way Links

Off page optimization is important in obtaining high rankings in Google. Getting quality One-Way links is very important. Anchor Text simply refers to "the underlined clicked on words" in your links. Most webmasters include their keywords in their anchor text as this tells the search engines exactly what the links are about.

9. Tags, Blogging And Web 2.0

Take advantage of Web 2.0 by using blogs, RSS feeds and the social bookmarking sites like Reddit and Digg. Try AddThis.com for a simple social bookmarking system. At the very least your site should have a blog and RSS feed attached to it as this is an effective way of boosting your keyword rankings.

Tags have become very important for getting higher rankings. Keep in mind, in free blogging software such as WordPress, categories will automatically be seen as tags. Blogger, which is owned by Google, now has a form where you put your keywords (tags) for each post you make.

10. PPC vs Organic Search

Of course, one of the fastest ways to get your links displayed on Google is to pay for them by using Google Adwords. Your ad and links will sit side by side with the organic link results. In Pay Per Click advertising you bid or pay so much per click for your keywords and you only pay when someone clicks your links. But smart marketers also know since you're getting millions of impressions advertising your products, acquiring name recognition and branding through PPC advertising can be a major side-benefit.

However, most webmasters would say that organic links (SERPS) will return better traffic than paid links or advertising. In most cases, this may be true because Google's organic rankings are becoming more respected and more trusted by users. They simply carry more weight with surfers.

This makes it even more beneficial to obtain top 10 rankings for your keywords in Google. Depending on the competitiveness of your chosen keywords reaching the first page listing or even the favored number one spot is well within any webmaster's reach. Just go for it. The rewards are well worth your efforts.

Article Marketing With Multiple Personalities

This is an article marketing method that I use frequently. I use something called multiple personality article marketing. This is where you create different accounts to write articles. Why would I do this? So I can talk about a topic even more. I can cover even more grounds if I write my articles in different article hosting servers.

It's all about writing the most amount of articles. And I can achieve this more if I use other article hosting servers. But you have to keep in mind, if you use this method, you are not allowed to copy and paste! This is the worst article marketing method that you can possibly use. So always write new and unique articles about your topic.

When I create different accounts, I usually do it because if I use two different accounts, more people will come to me. I'm simply covering more ground. That is what article marketing is all about. The ones who dominate their keyword with articles, are the ones who cover the most amount of ground. That is what you need to do. Even if that means creating new accounts. This is totally legal.

As a beginning article marketer, I must say that using this method is crucial. When your waiting for your pending articles, I demand that you write even more articles on a different account. That way, when your pending articles are trying to go through, you also have more articles on different accounts to go through. It's all about covering the most amount of ground the fastest.

Article Writing And Marketing - Do You Make These Bum Marketing Method Mistakes?

I really think that article writing and marketing is one of the best form of advertising on the Internet. The web is made from content like we were created from dust. Hundreds of people all over the web tried the bum marketing method.

The wide success of article marketing has a viral effect. Every beginners who try to make money online heard about the bum marketing method.

What is the bum marketing method?

Bum marketing is just another name for article promotion. Travis Sago invented this name to brand himself and I must say that it works very well for him. All over the web, people are trying this method to earn money on the Internet and many of them are successful.

However, the large majority of bum marketers fail miserably to earn more than $100 a month.

What are they doing wrong?

Bum marketing mistake #1:

Typically, a bum marketer will submit his content to hundreds of directories with links pointing directly to their affiliate programs.

What they don't understand is that many of the best directories are moderated and don't accept affiliate links.

Bum marketing mistake #2:

This lead us to the second blunder made by beginners. Most of them just submit one or two articles a week and expect to get great results.

To get the most of your promotion, you should at lease submit every single day, that's seven articles a week.

Bum marketing mistake #3:

Poor quality content. Most of the time, they don't take the time to learn how to write a compelling article and a bio box that make the reader click to visit their site.

They don't have conversion, and for this reason, they think that the method doesn't work.

Bum marketing mistake #3:

Wrong keyword research. No need to say that if you don't know how to carry out a keyword research, it will be very hard for people to read your articles and visit your website.

Link Bait A Beginners Guide to Search Engine Marketing

For search engine marketing companies the idea of Link Bait is very appealing. In simplistic terms, the more links a website has the higher it appears on Google & Yahoo! To attract these links in the past, a search engine optimisation (SEO) company had to individually approach sites with personalised emails asking for links.

It could often be time consuming and relied upon patience & good research. However a piece of Link Bait which quickly attracts a high number of links in a short period of time can often offer a better return on investment of an SEOs time than traditional link building.

The idea of Link Bait is relatively straight forward; given the prevalence of blogs and regularly updated websites, a piece of compelling content can quickly spread virally to a large number of people. Usually whenever someone mentioned, discussed or disputed they would receive a link. The wider their story spread, the more links they receives, the greater the click through traffic and the higher the search engines would regard their site.

While the concept is still fairly new, a number or search engine marketing companies are already offering Linkbaiting services and a number of trends and styles of bait have developed.

The most popular & practical technique is to provide a really high quality resource. This could be a useful tool, a collection of content in one place or any thing which proves useful to your readers and other webmasters think might be useful to theirs. The best way of doing this is to find a gap in the web or a problem & provide a solution. This is one of the least risky linkbaiting strategies & will be easy for anyone already producing high quality content.

The next technique is slightly more hazardous, write something controversial. Creating something which goes against given knowledge or disagrees with a commonly held belief is a sure fire way to bait some links. People will write stories refuting or agreeing with your point of view & provide lots of valuable one-way links. Though avoid being controversial for the sake of it. If its not something you believe 100% it can come back to haunt you. Plus its a stunt you can only pull a few times before people expect it of you.

Another trick of the trade is the humorous post, whether its parody of something the industry takes very seriously or some old fashioned jokes about your sector, humour is one of the top ways to hook a link.

One of the most risky, though potentially most rewarding forms of link bait is the attack; criticising someone or something prominent is one of the easiest; though potentially damaging ways, to attract links. It can make you look unprofessional but similarly if you have a well reasoned and justified point it can earn you respect from your peers. Definitely only one for the brave.

Almost the exact opposite to the attack is the ego link bait. Everybody is a sucker for praise, writing a follow up to an article written by another professional complimenting their work can prove successful. Similarly so can a competition or award, nobody is too shy when it comes to showing the world how popular and successful they are. And with that comes plenty of links.

While these are some of the most common ways search engine marketing companies create link bait they shouldnt be limiting. By creating compelling content that warrants attention you can find yourself top of the link bait tree.

Want Help With Your PPC Campaigns? Read This Review Of Keyword Elite

So why would you consider software to conduct your Keyword research, you may ask yourself?

One of the main and important reasons is the ability to save huge amounts of time on conducting research for profitable Keywords for using with Adsense content pages or looking for effective Keywords for your Google Adword campaigns. The phrase time is money is no truer than when attempting to do this type of research manually.

Ok, first things first Brad Callen in my opinion has excelled in developing a user friendly interface, I personally own both Keyword Elite and Seoelite, which is another of Brad's software developments, more of that on another review, but for now lets concentrate on the benefits of Keyword Elite.

When you start with the software it provides you with 5 projects:

1. Create a Keyword List
2. Analyse Pay Per Click Listings
3. Select a Keyword List
4. Analyse Keyword Competition
5. Spy on Adwords Competition

Project 1-Creating a Keyword List

This allows you to enter your desired keyword or phrase, you are provided with options telling Keyword Elite where you wish it to collate it's data from.

The options include:

Overture
Google Suggestion Tool
Yahoo
Ask.com
Misspelled Keywords

You are also provided with the option to use Wordtracker and or Keyword Discovery, dependant on having accounts with these. Whichever choices you take Keyword Elite can return up to potentially 10,000 keywords.

I'm sure you can see how this could not only provide large keyword lists but also significant time savings.

Project 2-Analyse Per Per Click Listings

If you are actively conducting research and implementing strategies with Google Adwords campaigns, then I believe project 2 would be of immense assistance in your campaigns.

So what is project 2 about?

Firstly, keyword lists from project 1 can be uploaded into project 2. Although possible, it is unlikely that you will wish to analyse all your keywords on your list. Keyword Elite allows you to select from the list the words that you wish to specifically research.

It takes your selection and searches all the major PPC search engines, you can see it's progress in the thread view and when finished you can view the results within the report view.

Within the report view this is where you will find an immense amount of valuable information, including the KEI or (Keyword Effectiveness Index), which provides a guide to the profitability of that Keyword.

Other information included is the CPC (Cost Per Click) and the average amount of time a word is clicked on.

Keyword Elite will show results for this information and more including detailed analysis of your competition, and does this for Broad,Phrase and Exact matches.

Furthermore it allows you to use this analysis to launch an adwords campaign without going into your google adwords campaign settings. The whole system is organised to assist the user as much as possible.

Project 2-Continued..

Continuing with project 2 not only are you selecting popular keywords to use with google adwords campaigns, but you are also establishing profitable Keywords to incorporate with google adsense pages if you so wish.

So how does it work, Keyword elite creates your Keyword List and analyses the cost per click mentioned previously, at this point you can select the Keywords you wish to work with.

Right clicking on the selection allows you to create adsense pages. Keyword Elite searches for articles surrounding the Keywords chosen, on completion you are able to build adsense pages using one of three provided templates or you can select your own.

Keyword elite allows you to record your own preferences with regards to the adsense blocks and text, and your own publishing id, all in all a number of new pages can be created in a matter of minutes and with a google site map included.

Project 4-Analyse your Keyword competition

With this project you can select up to 100 competing websites. You enter your keyword phrase and Keyword Elite goes to work on analysing your competition and provide results on how many sites are competing, how many searches are taking place.

It provides details pertaining to the individual site, such as its PR (Page Rank), also the keyword density shown within the content. Apart from this you can see how it is optimised for keywords in the title, alt tags and much much more.

spending sometime on this data could save a vast amount of time and possibly money in assessing whether you are focusing on the right niche. Is it too competitive?, is this a battle you can win or should you be spending your time looking elsewhere?.

The great thing about this project is its ability to allow you to be armed with this information in advance of any major involvement in a particular market or niche.

Project 5-Spying on your Adwords competition

With project 5 you can see what success your competition is having with your selected Keywords or market, you can see which keywords are been bid on and what levels of success are being experienced.

With keyword elite you can see which ads are effective, you can select how many times a day Keyword elite completes this research, once twice or three times a day. This allows you to build an audit trail so you can view the history of a campaign.

Covertly you know the Keywords, the ads of your competition and when they are making changes to ineffective ad campaigns.

In summary although I have mentioned the benefit of it's time savings Keyword Elite is and remains more than that. The software is designed with the user in mind and operates five effective projects all designed to provide the user with an unimaginable amount of valuable data, which in my opinion would either be impossible to find manually or would be prohibited by the time required to constantly conduct the research to the same effective standards.

Article Marketing - When to Market Your Online Business With Articles

All those articles can be written in a few minutes a day. You may think it takes hours, but I've created 12 articles in about thirty minutes, and most of them are publishable in some format. A few of the articles are simply ideas I've written in article format, that I'll use eventually to create ebooks. But most of these are articles I'll publish in the next few days.

1. FREQUENTLY

Publish at least five articles a week, but if you desire to increase your income, that number should be 25 or more. The number of articles you publish and the number of times you publish them will directly correlate to the increase in income. There's a difference in increasing and maintaining income. As you build your business, you must post more articles.

2. Day, Night, Any Time

It doesn't matter so much what time of day you publish them as it does time of week you publish. Some publishers prefer to put their ezines out early in the week, or at least begin selecting articles on dry days for later publication. If your articles are there and ready to go on Monday, they'll be in many publications by Friday.

3. Seasonal Marketing

Holiday Marketing offers inspired ideas and concepts that can take your business far, but don't forget the holidays that don't come at Christmas and Thanksgiving. President's Day Sales are popular in the real world, why not offer a great buy for patriots in your business too? Present a Romantic Twist for Valentine's day, and don't forget Easter. Celebrate Salvation with an opportunity to share your testimonials. Or strike a note for Independence on July 4th, what better day to remember Financial Freedom?

Best Article Marketing - Announcing 3 Compelling Secrets to Explode Your Article Marketing

Some online entrepreneurs prefer paid advertising (like banner ads and PPC advertising) in promoting their products and popularizing their websites. This type of advertising tools can attract interested parties to your website as long as you have the money to pay search engines every time your ads are being clicked. My Article Marketing Attraction Marketing Secret

Years ago when I first joined my network marketing company I attended a local opportunity meeting. I remember the speaker teaching us that network marketing is all about relationships. He went on to say that relationships are the key to building a successful team.

When I made the shift from being a distributor practicing offline marketing strategies to online marketing strategies I knew that relationship building was still going to be important.

One of the first strategies I learned on the Internet was article marketing. I also learned attraction marketing and how to brand myself as an expert online. In article marketing it's important to write keyword focused articles and to create a compelling resource box. After months of testing my articles, I learned that my conversion rates are higher than other strategies because the prospect is highly targeted. Think about it, if someone will take the time to read your article they are interested. They may not necessarily buy from you but they are at least worth a phone call and or email for follow up.

One day it hit me like a ton of bricks, why don't I give my readers a personal touch from a live video. I just purchased a nice webcam and was already posting videos to my blogs, myspace, and other websites. I was having fun producing these videos and I found them very effective marketing techniques for my business..

I created a video sharing a little about me and my background and then I would direct the readers to my blog or other website. This strategy is working because prospects are able to see me (the author) live and I direct them to take a certain action. Prospects want to be led from step to step. If I tell them in the video to go to my blog because I have free training resources already set, most likely they are going to go to my blog.

The prospects I now talk to have already got to know me a little bit and when they join me in business we already have a relationship started. The best part about using this strategy is it leverages my time. My videos will keep saying the same thing to thousands of readers.

To do this I simply create a video using my webcam and upload it to myspace video, youtube video, or blogger.com video. I then take the video link I'm given and post it in my signature box.

If you are not using video to brand yourself online I highly encourage you to start using this strategy. You can buy a good webcam for $60-80.00. The investment is well worth it!!

5 Top Ways To Improve Your Article Marketing

In this article I would like to share with you some of the best ways that I have used to improve my efforts from article marketing. Hopefully these ideas will help you as much as what they have helped me.

1) If you were anything like me then there is a good chance that you struggled to write your first few articles. A lot of people when they first start doing article marketing want to write about anything. To succeed with article marketing you need to focus on a very narrow topic. Get rid of your limiting beliefs. Also unwind and listen to some relaxing music to get your creative juices flowing. So often we struggle to write because our minds are not trained to do so.

2) Repeatedly people over emphasize the use of keywords in the articles and it hurts the search engine rankings and also the readability of the article. The search engines can easily make sure if the article is relevant to the keywords by the words that are being used.

3) It is significant that you build an electronic system for recording your ideas. Often you will get an idea for another article while you are writing an existing one and you will forget about the new idea. Now when you start writing an article from scratch you will wish that you recorded your original idea to save a lot of time. You will struggle to come up with original ideas when you need to deliberately think about them.

4) The primary purpose for your article is to capture your visitor's name and email address when they visit your web site. You need to capture a segment of the market that you can market to over and over again. Without a list of possible prospects for your business that you can sell to you will struggle to be successful with your internet business.

5) Submit your articles to all the main article directories. These will serve as backlinks to your website and will also increase your link popularity as the articles become viral in nature and get published by other websites.

Online Marketing for the Newcomer

I have seen the best and the worst in offline and online marketing campaigns. As a new arrival or novice marketer there are a few guidelines that will guarantee your continuous online success.

No, its not the magic e-book nor is it the magic course. Do you realise these things are just like marketing books in a book store?

The most important thing to keep in mind is keep testing and improving on what works. Search engine optimization might work for me but it might not work for you. This does not mean that it is junk, it just means it does not work for you.

Let me start with this statement, "There is NOTHING WRONG with YOU!" You have all the makings of a true internet marketing success story. If you can breathe and learn from your mistakes, you are 90% there.

That is nice to hear, but how can you use what you have to become a success? You just knuckle down and learn how others are doing it and copy them. Lets talk about TESTING, today. Testing never lets me down and saves me more money than I can stand to loose.

Online marketing campaigns are designed to offer hourly or daily feedback. It used to take weeks or months to receive feedback from offline marketing campaigns. The funny thing is that internet marketers do not test and follow the feedback results. The websites we currently use have superior tracking ability. It just takes a little creativity and patience to see if something worked.

Run the campaign, check the raw server logs if you received traffic and who referred the traffic. If your traffic was nonexistent then you can complain and ask for a repeat campaign. Most advertisers will accept raw server logs and not third party traffic counters.

The most important thing I learnt while building my business is to research and test as much as possible. I learned to be as assertive with people and sort out problems and not just change my service to find another hopeless program out there.

Trust me when I state that the internet is never in short supply of marketing programs and strategies. Most are too saturated to work amazingly but most work well enough to build on. Remember building a business is like building a house. Step by step.

The best is to try and work with the current program until they too realise that they can not help you and they should give you compensation. I prefer to work with smart people who work to find solutions and not waste my time with office clerks who can not think for themselves. They basically run their company like their 9 to 5 office job.

You should not accept the usual lines like "Read the terms of service" That is a cop out and we all know it. People wish to be dealt with like they matter. Sending somebody to FAQs defeats them and makes them feel stupid. Anybody who makes you feel stupid does not want your business.

The customer may not be right all the time but he or she has feelings and being made to feel like an idiot does not make them trust you or buy from you.

I have saved the best for last, you just have to go to my website Online Marketing Resources to find out more about how to be successful online.

A Few Words About Spiders

As a website owner and someone concerned about Search Engine Optimization, you don't have to suffer from Arachnophobia. Search Engine Spiders are your friends!

The search engines deploy programs called spiders to transverse the web and index all content available on the internet. These programs follow a set of rules defined by each search engines algorithm. Spiders are in search of information, and SEO is the process of providing information to these spiders in a manner that will boost relevancy.

Search Engine Spiders follow links on your website to other pages within your website, and to other websites to which your website links. Factors that influence spiders, and crawlabilty: Robots.txt file - most robots will look at this to determine where they can and cannot go on the website. In some cases if a spider cannot find this file it will not index the website.

Of course, don't forget about a Google sitemap. (www.xml-sitemaps.com ) is a good starting point. A Google sitemap doesn't guarantee inclusion by Google, but it most certainly doesn't hurt. It enables Google to properly and easily index your site.

It's also a good idea to have a separate XML site map and an HTML version for your visitors to see and utilize. See http://www.kaboodleventures.com/sitemap.xml for an example.

* URL's - Clean urls make it easy for the spider to index content. Variables and long url strings will hinder the spiders, if you site is built in ASP or PHP you may need to do a ModRewrite to create clean urls on the fly while still enabling your Content Management System features to be utilized.

*Good: http://www.somedomain.com/content/subcontent/pagename.html
*Bad: http://www.somedomain.com/index.html?catid=8&location_page=somevariable-44
*Place your primary keyword terms near the top of the document
*Place your keyword terms in the body surrounded by other relevant terms to establish context
* Place your keyword terms again in the bottom of the document
* Keep individual pages under 80k
* It's not a bad idea to place a "navigation bar" above your JavaScript, Flash or Form elements, and maybe even again at the bottom of each page
* Spiders do not read JavaScript, Flash, or Form elements
* Spiders will not view pages accessible only by forms

Although there are slight differences between the algorithms, all the search engines look for the same things that the human visitor values.
* A simple, cleanly coded design
* Well-thought-out, intuitive navigation
* Well-written, keyword rich descriptive copy
* Titles and Meta tags that help identify relevant keyword phrases
* Links that accurately describe what can be found at the site

Spiders, regardless of their crawling ability and their sometimes "creepiness" are really your friends. If you treat them right, feed them what they need, they will most definitely be your friend.
